Sunlight shone on the path as we started, The warmth on our backs and the trail before us.
Long was our quest, and far was our goal, To make it all the way, we must be bold.
The road changed quickly, much faster than we thought; We were not expecting to be climbing over rocks!
Some of us fell, out of thirst and hunger, Others kept going, prodding us onward.
As we went ever upward, into the valley, Heaven’s floodgates opened up, but we hardly did tary. We quickened our pace, to reach the high top, But alas, for the rain made it all naught. Overlooking this valley, I see the mysteries, Of life and love, how they can appear so quickly. Like the rain that came quickly, from nowhere it seemed, So love, life and laughter, all come without warning. Prepare for the rain, by packing rain gear, Prepare for your life, by seeking God here; Prepare for a laugh, have a net handy, And prepare for love, which borders insanity.
Now we are here, in this life so sunny and warm, All friends, all family, all quite adventuresome.
