Photo 365 Challenge: Day 11
Riddle #4
She sleeps so fair,
And only God can wake her.
Almost everywhere,
Except where shadows linger.
Once, maybe twice,
As she rises and sets;
Sleeping, doth rise,
Awake, she goes to bed.
Bright and cheery,
She starts her day in light;
Red and misty,
She leaves in red, gold, sight.
I’m sorry it’s been so long. As school progresses, it may get much worse. Also, I am starting to save up for a camera again, so I can start photographing some adventures for you.
Raining Sunshine
Drops fall down, down from above;
Each shines bright, as bright as the sun.
Even in sadness, sadness with tears;
Joy can be found, found without fear.
Droplets of dew, dew on the grass;
Each, a tiny lens, a lens made of glass.
Our eyes cannot see, see every blessing,
We see only us, and besides us, nothing.
Sunlight hits each, each a small star,
Illumined to brilliance, brightness seen afar.
Christ gives us light, and sight to see;
He is the source, the source of eternity.
So let the sun show, show its bright light;
To the lost world, a world without light.
We are the drops, the drops of sunshine;
To light up the world, the world for Christ.
Wandering in the Sky
The day was gloomy,
My heart, distraught;
It seems that’s the norm,
like it, or not.
Every smile is a frown,
No matter how pleasant;
The world’s upside-down,
An unpleasant fragrance.
I step outside to walk around,
From one place to another;
The sun hits me, hot and round;
I look up in awestruck wonder.
A sky of ocean blue,
The paths of snowy white;
My thoughts have been subdued,
And doom doth run in fright.
Though my heart is hurting,
My thoughts, all a mess;
God is faithful, never-changing,
Every day He does bless.
Look up when your heart is down,
Find the path of light;
Jesus Christ will, low, bend down,
Take your hand, and lead you right.
Our failures will always disappoint,
Every blunder, goof-up, and mistake;
We make them often, fall down hard,
That’s when, Christ’s hand, we take.
As I look at the clouds in the air,
The beautiful, brilliant sunshine;
I realize God made a path for me there,
To wander in the sky.
Looking Up
We kept to the path,
Straight as a knife;
Continuing on,
Finally arrived.
But looking back now,
On the trail we tread;
It wasn’t the goal,
Pushing us ahead.
I see now what inspired me,
What helped me every step;
The gentle voice, the strong arms,
Of a friend helping me up.
When I stumbled,
Every time I tripped;
They held my hand,
A loving, firm grip.
When I became discouraged,
The climb too hard;
They were there to encourage,
“Look up! Take heart!”
Looking up, all I saw,
Was the long, long path;
My friend smiled, shook their head,
“Look higher than that!”
So I moved my gaze upwards,
Up into the sky;
What wonders I beheld,
Oh how beautiful the sight!
I forgot all my worries,
My struggles and my falls;
God had given me new hope,
New energy He installed.
The sky met the ground,
At the horizon they said hello;
I look at that horizon now,
Wherever I go.
On that path so difficult,
With potholes, rocks, and sand;
God taught me something important,
To “Look up”, “Look higher”, by the voice of a friend.
